• At a crafting table, place one Smooth Stone Slab in the bottom center box
• Place six Sticks, three across the top row, one in the middle box, and two on either side of the Smooth Stone Slab, in the crafting table

Sticks are just about the simplest resource to obtain in Minecraft, as all you need to do is place two Planks of any wood type on top of each other at a crafting table.

This yields four Sticks, so you need four Planks total to make the required number for an Armor Stand.
